Happy New Year

The New Year has been a good one so far. We ushered it in with a lot of my family - in Alabama of all places. I truly have no good pictures from the event - our camera is on the fritz and despite my husband and I each buying each other a new one, we're still left with no good camera and no good pictures right now. Long story.

The best part of the New Year's celebration was watching Brother and Little Bitty play with their cousins. I have two nephews and two nieces, which makes 3 boys and 3 girls total. Brother and his two boy cousins are the oldest three - and then Little Bitty and the two other girls the youngest three. I'm sure one of my three siblings will pop out another kid at some point and mess up this nice and even ratio ... but for now it works out great getting the kids together and one is cuter than the next. In fact, here is a picture of my two nieces in their princess shoes... they were so proud.

We also got to visit with my grandparents who are 91 and 92 - at one point my grandma just said bewildered, "Two thousand and eight." Can you imagine? It will be like me celebrating 2063 (or somewhere around there).

Then, this past weekend I took Brother on a little "Mommy and Brother date". We went to a Children's Theatre and saw "Junie B. Jones and a Little Monkey Business". This is based on a popular children's book series (Junie B. Jones). I really enjoyed it. Brother - tolerated it. He cracks me up because he is so precocious and aware most of the time. But then he'll do something like spend 2 hours at a play about Junie B. Jones and later when I make reference to something that she did in the play he'll ask "Who's Junie B.?" and "What play?" All in all though, it was a fun time. We both wished there had been a snack booth though. I think it was a little too hoity-toity to serve gummy worms and pop.

More soon - I've been super busy at work but am going to try to hop back on the blogging wagon and start capturing more of the cuteness that is Brother and Little Bitty.

Today marks one year that our family has been complete. Post on that coming soon.
